Back To School...

Thanks to the good people at Thumbprint Gallery and Artlab for getting me back into the art scene.  It hasn't been easy since I'm currently working on a masters degree in biology, but I hope to make some more scratchboards soon. The mariachi was popular again, so I think I'll make a series.  And some more animals of course :)
The show will run for three weeks, so check it out if you're in the area!

Successful Showing

Great reaction from last night's show at Basic bar. Especially for a piece that I had just finished that day and was almost not going to display.  It comes from a style of high contrast black and white photography that I like.
I was also able to sell a remake of the gorilla that you see in my logo.  It was very nice to be recognized and well received.

Sea Turtles

Here is the final painting of the Green Sea Turtles from the Chula Vista Nature Center.  It is currently on display at the Industry Showroom in downtown San Diego.

Latest Show

Here's a sneak preview of a piece I'm finishing up for a mixed media show.  It's a printed canvas from a photoshop file, then I'm painting green sea turtles from the Chula Vista Nature center on with acrylic.

Mixed Media

Right now I'm practicing for a couple of mixed pieces I want to enter in a show.  Hopefully I can participate in as many group shows as possible and then maybe have my dream of a solo show someday :0) Mayhaps in a small gallery somewhere about town.

Small Canvas

So lately I'm learning that smaller doesn't really mean easier or quicker.  This little guy has so many quills and I have to go over each one two or three times.  I'm hoping to add color in the morning.

Upcoming Show

Last minute entry, but at this show I'll get to show several pieces. Now I just need to figure out how to hang my unframed scratchboards.
